Arts Intern

About the role

The British Council is seeking a proactive Arts Intern to support the delivery of its Arts programme in Nigeria. This 12‑month fixed‑term internship offers recent graduates practical experience in arts administration, event coordination and stakeholder communication.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with coordination of arts projects, programmes and events, maintaining schedules, trackers and project records.
• Organise and update application and participant information, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
• Support event planning and logistics, including venues, travel, accommodation, suppliers and participant communications.
• Help prepare digital content, update content calendars and create basic visual materials.
• Collect and validate programme data, maintain evidence and assist with monitoring, evaluation and reporting.

Required profile

• Graduate qualification obtained within the last two years.
• Experience supporting projects, programmes or administrative activities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Good written and spoken English and professional communication skills.
• Understanding of confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding procedures.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
• Ability to organise information using spreadsheets, trackers or databases.
• Familiarity with Canva or similar tools for basic visual creation.
