Area Business Manager – Direct Sales (Ankpa, Kogi State)

About the role

The Area Business Manager will coordinate sales, collections and distribution for Sun King’s EasyBuy solar products in Ankpa, Kogi State. Reporting to the Regional Business Manager (Mid North), the role is responsible for building and leading a team of Energy Officers to grow direct distribution in a sustainable manner.

Key responsibilities

• Hire, train and retain a team of at least 40 Energy Officers using local influencers and community networks.
• Provide comprehensive product, sales, collections, inventory and logistics training to Energy Officers.
• Define clear daily tasks, routes, targets and sales/collection plans for each Energy Officer.
• Conduct weekly touch‑points (in‑person, call or joint sale) with every Energy Officer and resolve field issues.
• Accompany Energy Officers on their first five sales to ensure proper process adherence.
• Organise joint field activities such as night activations, market visits, and community gatherings (SACCOs, self‑help groups, retail centres) to drive group sales.
• Report challenges and performance metrics to the Regional Business Manager on a weekly basis.

Required profile

• Proven experience in sales management or field team leadership.
• Ability to recruit, train and motivate large numbers of field agents.
• Strong knowledge of the local market and community networks in Ankpa.
• Excellent communication, integrity and professionalism when dealing with customers and partners.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
