Application Security Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Application Security Engineer to protect Moniepoint’s digital assets by embedding security throughout the application lifecycle. The role involves assessing, testing, and hardening both web and mobile applications while ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct manual and automated security assessments of web and mobile applications to identify vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate security controls and best practices into the software development lifecycle.
• Perform penetration testing to simulate real‑world attacks and produce detailed remediation reports.
• Participate in incident response for application‑related security events, working with cross‑functional teams to investigate and resolve issues.
• Ensure applications meet relevant security standards, regulations, and emerging threat requirements.
• Develop and deliver security training and awareness programs for developers.
• Manage and configure security tools for continuous monitoring and analysis of application security.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Application Security Specialist or in a similar role.
• In‑depth knowledge of application security principles, common vulnerabilities and secure coding practices.
• Hands‑on experience with security testing tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with web application architecture and cloud‑based environments.
• Relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, LPT, GPEN, CISSP are a plus.
