AI Engineer – Generative AI & Adaptive Learning

About the role

We are seeking an experienced AI Engineer to join an innovative EdTech and AI company in Nigeria, building an AI‑powered platform for professional qualification, assessment, and exam preparation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop AI‑powered features using foundation‑model APIs and build LLM‑based workflows.
• Design and implement Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) systems and knowledge retrieval pipelines.
• Contribute to competency models, performance analysis, and adaptive learning mechanisms.
• Develop AI‑tutor explanations, detect misconceptions, and generate personalized recommendations.
• Create AI‑assisted assessment workflows and support quality‑control processes.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience developing AI‑powered applications and intelligent software systems.
• Experience with Generative AI, LLM application development, and RAG knowledge retrieval.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Node.js/TypeScript, backend/API development, and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and vector databases.
• Background in EdTech, assessment platforms, or adaptive learning is a plus.
