AI and ML Developer / Engineer

About the role

ATAfrica is looking for an AI and ML Developer/Engineer to design, develop and implement AI-driven solutions. The role focuses on using OpenAI's models and generative models, and sits within the AI and Quant category.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement AI/ML solutions using OpenAI's models and generative models.
• Develop and deploy machine learning models, with a focus on generative models for applications such as natural language processing and computer vision.
• Write efficient, scalable and maintainable code for AI/ML workflows.
• Run experiments and research to advance AI and machine learning, especially generative modeling techniques.
• Stay up to date with AI and ML research, particularly around OpenAI and generative models, and bring findings into projects.
• Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, give technical advice and iterate on solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
• Deep understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms, especially generative modeling and deep learning.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles, including version control, testing and debugging.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for complex technical challenges.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in a distributed team.

Required skills

• Strong Python, with frameworks such as TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, PyTorch or Keras.
• Experience with OpenAI APIs and models such as GPT.
• Familiarity with generative models such as VAEs, GANs and autoregressive models.
