Accounts Officer

About the role

The Accounts Officer will support Marshal Star Security’s finance function by ensuring accurate financial records, performing reconciliations, and assisting with internal audits. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role requires a high level of integrity and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

• Perform bank, client‑account and supplier reconciliations and highlight any irregularities.
• Analyse financial data, investigate variances and provide practical recommendations to the Managing Director.
• Review financial records, assess internal controls and prepare audit reports.
• Prepare periodic financial summaries, audit findings and compliance reports.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information and meet reporting deadlines.

Required profile

• HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience in accounting or internal audit, preferably in security, facilities management, logistics or a service company.
• Demonstrated high integrity, discretion and trustworthiness.
• Strong numerical aptitude and ability to work accurately under pressure.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial formulas.
• Competent use of Microsoft Word.
• Effective internet research and usage abilities.
