Accounting (Tax) Supervisor

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounting (Tax) Supervisor to oversee daily accounting operations and ensure compliance with financial and tax regulations in Nigeria. The role works closely with the Tax Manager to support month‑end closing and tax filing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Handle daily accounting entries, journal postings, and ledger updates.
• Reconcile bank balances, receivables, payables and intercompany transactions.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Prepare and maintain accounting schedules, supporting documents and filing records.
• Assist the Tax Manager with VAT, WHT and CIT filings and related documentation.
• Review invoices, payment vouchers, expense claims and other source documents for accuracy.
• Provide data and documentation for internal and external audits.
• Ensure accounting records are organized and promptly updated.
• Perform other accounting and financial duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing or a related field.
• 3–5 years of audit experience in a Big Four firm (or equivalent strong performance).
• Professional qualifications such as ICAN, ACCA or CPA are preferred.
• Good understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping and financial reconciliations.
• Knowledge of basic tax compliance processes in Nigeria is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, accountability and ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Familiar with accounting systems or ERP tools.
