Accounting Officer – PRiFN Project

About the role

The Accounting Officer will join TechnoServe Nigeria’s finance team in a junior‑level capacity, providing essential accounting support for the organization and the PRiFN project. The role ensures that all financial transactions are recorded accurately, comply with donor, statutory and internal policies, and support the overall mission of creating sustainable pathways out of poverty.

Key responsibilities

• Review procurement requests for compliance with procurement and donor policies.
• Process procurement approvals, raise payment vouchers and facilitate wire transfers.
• Enter transaction data accurately into TechnoServe’s accounting system.
• Check and code expenditures such as travel advances, imprest and purchase requisitions.
• Maintain both physical and electronic financial document filing systems.
• Assist the Senior Finance Specialist in implementing and monitoring a grant tracking system.
• File tax deductions and support the acquisition of tax clearance certificates.
• Stay updated on regulatory changes and support internal and project audits.
• Prepare schedules for monthly financial close and donor reporting for the PRiFN project.
• Review reconciliations and ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws.

Required profile

• Junior‑level candidate with at least basic experience in accounting.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Good understanding of procurement and donor compliance requirements.
