Accountant – Lagos

About the role

We are a leading indigenous consultancy firm seeking a full‑time Accountant to join our Victoria Island office. The role involves managing the firm’s financial records, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting management with analysis and budgeting.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and proper documentation of all transactions.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and periodic financial reports.
• Monitor cash flow and provide regular updates on the firm’s financial position.
• Prepare financial statements and support the annual audit process.
• Manage invoicing, collections, and receivables tracking.
• Prepare budgets, financial forecasts and track expenditure against approved budgets.
• Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, including VAT, WHT and PAYE filings.
• Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors as needed.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure proper filing of financial records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Professional certification such as ACCA, ICAN or equivalent (completed or in progress) is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
