Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to join our finance team in Lagos. The role involves managing the full spectrum of financial activities, from budgeting and forecasting to cash‑flow oversight, using industry‑standard software.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis.
• Maintain the general ledger, record journal entries and perform month‑end / year‑end closings.
• Prepare accurate profit & loss statements, balance sheets, cash‑flow statements and other required reports.
• Monitor cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for daily operations and strategic projects.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances and improvement opportunities, and present recommendations to management.
• Utilise QuickBooks for transaction processing, reconciliations and reporting.
• Work with ODOO or other accounting software where applicable.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of accounting or financial management experience, preferably in oil & gas or construction.
• Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations and reporting standards.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Experience using ODOO or similar accounting platforms.
• Financial reporting and general‑ledger management.
• Cash‑flow monitoring and financial analysis.
