Accountant – Financial Reporting & Taxation

About the role

Roadmech is seeking a qualified Accountant to manage financial reporting, taxation and day‑to‑day financial operations. The role supports senior management in budgeting and strategic planning while ensuring compliance with Nigerian regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare balance sheets, income statements and cash flow statements.
• Reconcile bank statements with internal ledgers and resolve discrepancies.
• Track costs versus revenue to provide profitability insights.
• Prepare and file quarterly and annual tax returns.
• Assist auditors by organizing data and compiling audit reports.
• Record all financial transactions with high accuracy.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Calculate payroll, deductions and ensure timely salary payments.
• Collaborate on budgeting and forecast future financial performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ACA) is a plus.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, taxation, budgeting and internal controls.
• High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Willingness to reside and work in Ijebu‑Ode.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
