Accountant – Financial Reporting & Controls

About the role

Sagad Farms, an integrated agribusiness, is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to own its financial processes. The role focuses on delivering accurate financial information that underpins sound business decisions in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Maintain complete and accurate accounting records.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable.
• Reconcile bank accounts, ledgers and balance‑sheet items regularly.
• Monitor cash flow and produce cash‑flow statements.
• Process payroll and statutory remittances where applicable.
• Prepare budgets and track performance against them.
• Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulatory requirements and reporting standards.
• Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation.
• Develop and maintain strong internal financial controls.
• Identify financial risks and recommend practical solutions.
• Collaborate with department heads to improve financial planning and cost efficiency.
• Prepare management reports that provide meaningful business insights.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• ACA, ACCA or ICAN qualification.
• Minimum of 5 years’ accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, agriculture, FMCG or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, taxation and financial reporting.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
