Accountant – Financial Reporting & Analysis

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join Castel Resources in Port Harcourt. The role involves managing core accounting functions, preparing financial statements, and supporting strategic decisions through analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, examine, and maintain accurate financial records and statements.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Monitor budgets, cash flow, and overall financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory remittances, and accounting standards.
• Assist during internal and external audits.
• Maintain proper documentation of all financial transactions.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support management decisions.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, ACA, or ATS is an advantage.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar).
