Accountant – Financial Management & Reporting

About the role

We are seeking a diligent Accountant to join our finance team in Lagos. The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial records, support budgeting activities, and provide insightful reporting to guide business decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain error‑free financial transaction records.
• Prepare budget forecasts and develop standard reporting systems.
• Publish and compile financial statements promptly.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely bank payments.
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns.
• Oversee balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
• Report on financial health, liquidity, and recommend actions to management.
• Audit financial transactions and documents as required.
• Protect data confidentiality and perform database backups when needed.
• Ensure compliance with all financial policies and regulations.

Required profile

• BSc or HND in Accounting; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• 3–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Advanced MS Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• Experience with general ledger functions.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical abilities.
