Account Officer

About the role

We are looking for a competent, detail‑oriented Account Officer to support the financial operations of our physiotherapy clinics. The role involves managing financial reporting, account reconciliations, statutory compliance, and revenue assurance, especially for HMO‑related transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and post transactions in the accounting system.
• Prepare periodic financial reports, reconciliations, schedules and management reports.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor payments, invoicing and debt recovery.
• Process and remit statutory deductions and taxes in line with regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audit activities by providing required documentation.
• Monitor, reconcile and follow up on HMO claims, payments, capitations and outstanding balances.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in patient billing, insurance claims and HMO settlements.
• Liaise with HMOs and other stakeholders to ensure timely claim processing and recovery.
• Prepare monthly reconciliation reports and ensure all financial transactions are accurately accounted for.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and other finance‑related tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• HND or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, reconciliations or healthcare financial operations.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
• Knowledge of HMO billing, claims processing and healthcare revenue management is an advantage.
• Must reside within Lagos Mainland, preferably Surulere or its environs.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP)
• Proficiency with accounting software
• Experience with financial management systems
