ABA Therapist Trainee – Special Education

About the role

Our client, a leading special‑needs education provider, is seeking enthusiastic ABA Therapist Trainees to support children with autism, Down syndrome and other developmental challenges. Under the supervision of qualified ABA professionals, trainees will gain hands‑on experience applying Applied Behaviour Analysis techniques to promote communication, social, behavioural and academic skills.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering individualized ABA therapy programs as directed by supervisors.
• Collect and accurately record behavioural and skill‑acquisition data during sessions.
• Observe client progress and report observations to supervisors.
• Prepare therapy materials and maintain an organized learning environment.
• Support clients during group activities, outings and community‑based learning experiences.
• Participate in training sessions, workshops and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Minimum OND, HND, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Education, Psychology, Special Education, Social Sciences, Health Sciences or related fields.
• Passion for working with children and individuals with special needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Patience, empathy and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
