WASH Specialist (NO-3) – Temporary 364‑day Assignment in Nigeria

About the role

The WASH Specialist will join UNICEF's Nigeria country programme on a 364‑day temporary appointment. Reporting to the Chief of WASH or WASH Manager (Level 4), the role supports the design, implementation and evaluation of water, sanitation and hygiene interventions across multiple states.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development, preparation, management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH programme.
• Provide technical guidance and management support throughout the programming cycle to achieve WASH‑related results.
• Strengthen the design and use of theory of change, results frameworks, situation and bottleneck analyses, monitoring evidence, donor proposals, annual workplans and strategic documentation.
• Collaborate with UNICEF colleagues, government counterparts, implementing partners and external agencies to ensure WASH strategies, outputs, indicators, baselines, targets and means of verification are well defined and tracked.

Required profile

• Reports to the Chief of WASH or WASH Manager (Level 4) for guidance and supervision.
• Experience in WASH programme management within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Ability to work with multi‑partner environments and adhere to UNICEF’s operational standards.
