Utility Engineer – FMCG Manufacturing

About the role

The Utility Engineer will ensure efficient operation, maintenance and reliability of all utility systems that support production in a fast‑moving consumer goods environment. The role focuses on minimizing downtime through preventive and corrective maintenance while meeting safety, quality and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain generators, boilers, chillers, air compressors, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs, water and wastewater treatment plants, boreholes and other utility equipment.
• Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance according to OEM recommendations and company plans.
• Diagnose equipment breakdowns, implement corrective actions promptly and keep detailed maintenance records.
• Monitor performance, recommend improvements and support cost‑saving initiatives through efficient utility operation.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with Production, Quality, HSE, Procurement and Stores to ensure spare‑part availability.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards for all utility systems.
• Assist in annual servicing, shutdown maintenance, inspections and continuous‑improvement projects.

Required profile

• HND, ND or B.Sc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of hands‑on experience in utility operations and maintenance within FMCG or manufacturing.
