Technical Project Manager

About the role

Mercy Corps Nigeria is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead the implementation of the Protecting Food Security Against Flood & Drought Cycles project in Katsina State. The role provides overall technical leadership, project management, and coordination to deliver climate‑resilient infrastructure and agricultural interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and monitor all technical components of the project, including flood mitigation structures, solar‑powered water systems, and climate‑smart agriculture interventions.
• Provide quality assurance, compliance oversight, and ensure adherence to Mercy Corps technical standards and donor requirements.
• Supervise multidisciplinary technical teams and coordinate with government agencies, contractors, consultants, community groups, and private‑sector partners.
• Lead stakeholder engagement, reporting, and documentation to track progress and outcomes.
• Integrate engineering, natural resource management, procurement, finance, MEAL, and community engagement functions for cohesive project delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale climate resilience or infrastructure projects in a development context.
• Strong background in engineering, agriculture, natural resource management, or related technical fields.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and work with government and partner organizations.
• Excellent analytical, monitoring, and reporting skills.
