Team Lead – Collections

About the role

Renmoney is seeking a hands‑on Team Lead to drive the performance of its collections team. You will oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensure recovery targets are met, and enhance the efficiency of delinquency management across the loan portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and manage a team of collections officers to achieve daily, weekly and monthly recovery targets.
• Monitor delinquency buckets, recovery rates and portfolio‑at‑risk metrics, taking corrective action when needed.
• Develop and refine collections strategies and scripts for early, mid and late‑stage recovery.
• Ensure collections activities comply with CBN regulations and internal risk policies.
• Collaborate with Credit Risk, Product and Customer Experience teams to improve repayment journeys.
• Track and report performance, recovery trends and NPL movement to senior management.
• Identify workflow gaps and recommend automation tools such as dialer systems, SMS/USSD reminders and self‑service channels.
• Handle escalations and complex delinquent cases requiring negotiation or restructuring.
• Train and onboard new collections team members on policies, tools and best practices.

Required profile

• 3+ years experience in collections, credit risk or loan recovery within banking, micro‑finance or fintech.
• 2+ years in a supervisory or team‑lead capacity.
• Strong understanding of delinquency management, recovery strategies and credit risk fundamentals.
• Data‑driven mindset comfortable working with recovery rate, PAR, NPL and roll‑rate metrics.
• Excellent negotiation, conflict‑resolution and people‑management skills.
