Tax and Financial Auditor

About the role

The Tax and Financial Auditor will work on‑site with clients across Port Harcourt, Lagos, Rivers and Abuja, examining tax documents, financial records and internal controls. You will design audit plans, assess risk, and ensure compliance with applicable laws and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Visit client sites to review tax filings, financial statements and accounting systems.
• Develop audit plans, design audit procedures and document findings.
• Identify risk areas, report errors, fraud or inefficiencies, and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct inventory, payroll, staff allowances, fixed‑asset, GL integrity, bank reconciliation and credit‑control audits.
• Prepare status reports, final audit reports and maintain confidential records.

Required profile

• BSc/HND in Accounting or a related field.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA or CPA is an advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in tax and financial auditing, preferably with a government revenue service or audit firm.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
• General Microsoft Office competency.
