Supermarket Operations Manager

About the role

The Supermarket Operations Manager will lead daily store activities, ensuring smooth service, optimal stock levels, and a high‑quality customer experience. You will be responsible for implementing policies, managing staff, and driving revenue growth in a fast‑paced retail environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day supermarket operations and ensure compliance with opening/closing procedures.
• Develop and implement operational policies to improve productivity.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and full stock availability.
• Supervise, train, motivate, and evaluate staff; prepare schedules and manage attendance.
• Set performance targets, monitor employee productivity, and address staff concerns.
• Control inventory, coordinate ordering, conduct stock counts and audits, and minimize losses.
• Ensure accurate pricing, labeling, and merchandising across all departments.
• Monitor daily sales, analyze trends, and implement strategies to increase revenue.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and ensure excellent service.
• Prepare and manage operational budgets, monitor expenses, and enforce cost‑control measures.
• Review cash handling procedures, reconcile daily sales reports, and work with finance to meet profitability targets.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, food‑safety, and security regulations.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management or related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in supermarket, retail or store operations.
• Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, merchandising and customer service.
