Speaker Coach - Volunteer

About the role

TEDxMaitama Official is seeking a dedicated Volunteer Speaker Coach to support presenters preparing for upcoming TEDx events. Based in Abuja, the role blends on‑site interaction with remote collaboration, offering a unique opportunity to shape compelling talks that reflect African heritage and innovative ideas.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with speakers to develop and refine their presentation content and delivery.
• Provide coaching on public speaking techniques, voice modulation, body language, and storytelling.
• Deliver structured, constructive feedback and help speakers rehearse for TEDx stages.
• Collaborate with the event team to align talks with TED’s mission, values, and presentation style.
• Assist in script development and creative writing where needed.

Required profile

• Strong background in public speaking, speech coaching, or presentation training.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and mentorship abilities.
• Organized, able to manage time effectively across multiple speakers.
• Passion for amplifying diverse voices and storytelling.
• Familiarity with TEDx format and values is a plus.
