Software Engineer

About the role

The Software Engineer will join the Ilorin Future Builders Summit 1.0 initiative to build and maintain the digital platforms that power the two‑day event. This full‑time, on‑site position in Ilorin focuses on creating reliable back‑end services, APIs and participant‑facing applications that support learning, mentorship and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain software solutions for summit platforms and tools.
• Write clean, efficient code and implement back‑end services and APIs.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure high system reliability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver new features on schedule.
• Participate in code reviews and optimise system performance.
• Produce technical documentation and contribute to best‑practice guidelines.
• Engage with the local innovation ecosystem, sharing insights and supporting collaborative projects.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, data structures, algorithms and software engineering principles.
• Experience building and deploying production‑ready back‑end web applications.
• Solid understanding of Object‑Oriented Programming and modern software architectures.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with version‑control systems such as Git and collaborative development workflows.
• Ability to work on‑site in Ilorin and communicate technical ideas clearly.
• Additional experience with web technologies, cloud platforms or DevOps practices is a plus.
