Service Engineer

About the role

Husk Power Systems is seeking a Service Engineer to ensure optimal and safe operation of generation, transmission and distribution equipment across its mini‑grid plants in Nigeria. The role involves monitoring plant performance, conducting preventive and corrective maintenance, and supporting customers on site.

Key responsibilities

• Daily monitoring of HMGs via meters and system portal to ensure power quality and reliability.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, following HSE procedures.
• Initiate and follow up OEM tickets for early rectification of issues.
• Maintain event logs, health checks, and maintenance records for each plant.
• Train site electricians on operation and maintenance of the system.
• Manage diesel consumption, spare parts planning, and overhauling of diesel engines.
• Support new customer connections and ensure timely commissioning per SOP.

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering with a focus on electrical engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure, solar or telecom sectors.
• At least 2 years of experience leading a team of five or more staff.
• Willingness to work and live in rural areas of Nigeria in a fast‑paced start‑up environment.
