Senior Web Designer (Fintech/Payments)

About the role

Our client is a technology company that provides payment solutions for businesses across Africa. They are seeking a Senior Web Designer to create delightful, high‑performing web experiences that help businesses accept payments online and offline. You will own the public‑facing web presence, designing and building microsites, product pages and campaign landing pages.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop end‑to‑end web experiences, from concept through production‑ready launch.
• Create reusable components, patterns and interaction systems to scale future web work.
• Ensure performance, accessibility (WCAG) and conversion optimisation across devices and network conditions.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, design crits and stakeholders to refine visual and technical solutions.

Required profile

• Ability to turn briefs into polished, production‑ready web experiences with minimal direction.
• Strong focus on accessibility, cross‑browser/device support and performance as default considerations.
• Product‑centric mindset with solid storytelling instincts for ambiguous requirements.

Required skills

• HTML & CSS
• React (TypeScript a plus)
• Git and modern frontend tooling
• Motion libraries such as GSAP, Framer Motion or CSS animations
• Figma for design‑to‑code workflow
• Webflow or similar low‑code platforms
• SEO best practices and web analytics
• LLMs/AI development tools for rapid prototyping
• Three.js, WebGL, React Three Fiber (optional but beneficial)
