Senior Web Designer (Fintech/Payments)

About the role

Our client is a technology company that helps African businesses accept payments online and offline, manage operations and grow. They are seeking a Senior Web Designer to own and evolve their public‑facing web presence, creating microsites, product pages and campaign landing pages that are both beautiful and effective.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end delivery of public web experiences, from brief to production‑ready launch.
• Design and build pixel‑perfect, responsive, accessible and fast interfaces using modern web technologies.
• Create reusable components and interaction patterns that scale across multiple web properties.
• Optimize pages for performance, accessibility and conversion on varied devices and network conditions.
• Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, providing design judgment while they handle deep performance and system concerns.
• Participate in design critiques, give and receive feedback, and help raise the team’s visual and interaction standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of web design or design‑engineering experience at a product‑driven tech company.
• Strong eye for typography, layout, motion and detail, with the ability to implement pixel‑perfect UI from specs or concepts.
• Fluent in Figma and capable of bridging design and development without heavy reliance on others.
• Proactive in taking briefs to polished, production‑ready experiences with minimal direction.
• Commitment to accessibility (WCAG) and cross‑browser/device support as default.
• Familiarity with low‑code tools such as Webflow, SEO best practices and web analytics.
