Senior Surveyor – Railway Project

About the role

Senior Surveyor needed to support supervision and delivery of the Kano‑Maradi‑Dutse Railway Project, planning, executing and managing surveying activities across Kano and Katsina.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate survey activities with the Head of Survey, project managers, engineers and stakeholders.
• Conduct topographic, alignment and control surveys for railway tracks, bridges, stations and associated structures.
• Operate and manage Total Stations, GPS and levelling equipment (optical/digital).
• Process and analyze survey data using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GIS to produce drawings, longitudinal profiles and cross‑sections.
• Establish, verify and maintain benchmarks and control points.
• Ensure compliance with railway safety standards and survey regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, survey records and documentation.
• Carry out quality control checks and resolve survey discrepancies.
• Support setting‑out and verification of contractor works on site.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Total Stations, GPS and levelling equipment (optical/digital).
• Experience using AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GIS for survey data processing and drawing production.
