Senior PSV Technician – Oil & Gas

About the role

SPIE Services Nigeria Limited is seeking an experienced PSV Senior Technician to ensure the safe inspection, testing, maintenance, and certification of Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs) across upstream, midstream, and downstream facilities. The role protects lives, assets, and production continuity in high‑risk environments.

Key responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, lap seats, and replace springs, bellows, and O‑rings on PSV brands such as Crosby, Anderson Greenwood, Leser, and Farris.
• Execute emergency repairs during unplanned shutdowns to avoid flaring penalties.
• Perform statutory PSV testing and recertification per NUPRC guidelines and API 576, typically every 12‑36 months.
• Conduct bench and in‑situ testing using deadweight testers and portable pop testers on FPSOs, flow stations, refineries, and gas plants.
• Issue PSV certification tags acceptable to NUPRC and third‑party inspectors.
• Complete Permit to Work, JSA, and Toolbox Talk documentation and ensure 100% compliance with DPR Safety Regulations 1997 and NMDPRA requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum ND/HND Mechanical Engineering from an NBTE‑accredited polytechnic; B.Eng preferred for IOC roles.
• 8‑10 years of oil & gas experience, with at least 6 years dedicated to PSV maintenance.
• API 510 or API 570 certification; BOSIET + HUET for offshore assignments.
• COREN registration is an advantage.
