Senior Product Designer - Design System

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer (Design System) who thinks at a system level and creates a scalable UI ecosystem across multiple products, teams, and platforms. You will own component libraries, interaction models, and ensure design consistency across web and mobile.

Key responsibilities

• UI Craft & Visual Excellence: maintain high standards for layout, typography, colour, spacing, hierarchy, and digital finish across reusable elements.
• Component Architecture: design, build, and maintain robust component libraries (buttons, inputs, cards, navigation, forms, tables, etc.) that scale across products.
• Interaction & Motion Design: define interactive behaviours and state transitions (hover, focus, disabled, loading, mobile) to make components feel alive.
• Design Token Management: structure and maintain design tokens (colours, spacing, typography, border‑radius, shadows) for consistency between design tools and code.
• Figma Library Architecture: organise complex variants, properties, and components in Figma to empower designers to build quickly and accurately.
• Engineering Collaboration: partner closely with engineering to navigate technical constraints across Web, React, Flutter, Android, and iOS.
• Documentation & Governance: create clear usage guidelines and documentation outlining when, why, and how components should be used.

Required profile

• Proven design‑system track record: extensive experience building, scaling, and maintaining production‑ready design systems.
• Cross‑platform expertise: deep understanding of constraints and guidelines for Web, iOS, and Android.
• Systems‑thinking mindset: portfolio showing how individual design decisions impact multiple products and optimise workflows.
• Front‑end alignment: strong familiarity with how developers inspect, build, and consume components in code repositories.

Required skills

• Expert Figma proficiency: advanced knowledge of libraries, auto‑layout, components, variants, variables, and publishing.
• Accessibility champion: solid grasp of WCAG standards, contrast requirements, and inclusive design principles.
• Technical literacy: familiarity with component‑driven frameworks such as React and Flutter, and Atomic Design methodology.
• Communication & documentation: excellent writing and presentation skills for translating design system choices into clear guidelines.
