Senior Platform/Solution Architect – Capacity Planning & Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

The Senior Platform/Solution Architect is responsible for translating business demand, application traffic and workload characteristics into quantifiable infrastructure requirements across microservices, Kubernetes/OpenShift, cloud and on‑premises environments. The role ensures performance, scalability, resilience, availability and cost efficiency of the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead capacity planning and infrastructure dimensioning for applications, platforms and microservices‑based services.
• Develop quantitative workload models for normal, peak, burst and exceptional traffic conditions.
• Define CPU, memory, pod/replica, node and cluster sizing and create short‑, medium‑ and long‑term capacity roadmaps.
• Validate sizing assumptions through performance and capacity testing and provide recommendations for cloud and on‑premises environments.
• Establish governance, standards and repeatable sizing methodologies across the organisation.

Required profile

• 10–15+ years of experience in solution/platform architecture, cloud infrastructure and capacity planning.
• Proven experience designing large‑scale distributed systems and microservices platforms, preferably in high‑volume sectors such as telecoms or financial services.
• Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes/OpenShift and containerised application environments.
