Senior Mechanic

About the role

SLB is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanic to maintain, repair, and service oilfield trucks and related mechanical systems in Port‑Harcourt, Nigeria. The role ensures equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and safety on site.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on oilfield trucks, including transmission and engine systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on Perkins and Caterpillar engines.
• Maintain Renault truck chassis and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Support Wireline (WL) and Slickline (SLK) truck maintenance programs.
• Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to log work orders and track asset performance.
• Collaborate with the operations team to minimize downtime and optimize equipment availability.

Required profile

• Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in truck and heavy‑equipment maintenance.
• Proven experience with transmission systems, Perkins and Caterpillar engines, and Renault truck chassis.
• Hands‑on experience maintaining Wireline and Slickline oilfield trucks.
• Completed relevant technical training and certification.
• Proactive, enthusiastic attitude and ability to work in a high‑performance environment.
