Senior Facilities Engineer / Advisor – Oil & Gas

About the role

We are seeking a highly accomplished Senior Facilities Engineer/Advisor to provide technical authority across upstream, midstream, LNG and gas processing projects. The role ensures engineering integrity, regulatory compliance and asset reliability from concept through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical advisor on facilities engineering, reviewing FEED, detailed design, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, datasheets and specifications for code compliance and suitability.
• Evaluate and endorse engineering deliverables, advise on equipment selection, process configuration and cost‑effective design solutions.
• Respond to technical queries, design changes and non‑conformances, ensuring alignment with company standards and industry codes (API, ASME, etc.).
• Support project planning by providing cost estimating guidance, scope definition and risk assessment, and assist in contract negotiations and vendor evaluations.
• Conduct site visits, verify design intent, troubleshoot facility issues and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Minimum 20 years of progressive engineering experience in oil & gas facilities engineering or technical advisory roles.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering.
• Proven experience across the full facilities project lifecycle – concept, FEED, estimating, detailed design and field execution.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, equipment and relevant industry codes (API, ASME, ISO, NFPA, IEC).

• Process simulation and hydraulic analysis tools.
• Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) software.
• Development and review of P&IDs, process flow diagrams and technical specifications.
• Cost estimating, budgeting and scheduling.
• Risk assessment methodologies (HAZID, HAZOP, SIL).
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
