Senior Digital & Community Strategist

About the role

DEO Media Limited is seeking a Senior Digital & Community Strategist to lead storytelling, audience growth and community engagement for major campaigns and brand accounts across Africa. Reporting directly to the CEO and senior staff, the role is fully remote/hybrid and focuses on turning cultural relevance into sustained digital impact.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain social content frameworks for Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X and Facebook.
• Shape platform‑specific strategies across campaign phases – teaser, launch, sustain and amplification.
• Write and edit campaign copy, captions, brand stories and partner content.
• Manage scheduling and publishing workflows using Hootsuite.
• Own end‑to‑end newsletter strategy, including writing, segmentation, scheduling and reporting.
• Coordinate online PR, earned digital storytelling and partner amplification.
• Define community tone, moderation standards and oversee the Community & Research Executive.
• Collaborate with the Paid Media Manager to align organic and paid strategies and produce insight‑led performance reports.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of experience in digital, social media and community strategy.
• Deep understanding of platform algorithms, audience behaviour and cultural trends.
• Proven ability to translate cultural relevance into sustained engagement.
• Strong copywriting skills and experience managing newsletters.
• Experience working with entertainment, fintech or nonprofit brands is a plus.
