Senior Coordinator, UI/UX Design

About the role

The Senior Coordinator, UI/UX Design leads end‑to‑end design of eHealth Africa’s digital health products, ensuring seamless, accessible, and compelling user experiences across web and mobile platforms. The role combines strategic design leadership with hands‑on execution, aligning user needs with organizational goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategy, planning and execution of UI/UX design across web and mobile applications.
• Translate user needs and product objectives into wireframes, prototypes, and detailed design specifications.
• Maintain and evolve a scalable design system that adheres to brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and marketing teams to shape user journeys and define product touchpoints.
• Provide UX leadership during sprint planning, design reviews and stakeholder discussions.
• Deliver high‑fidelity mockups, design assets and implementation‑ready specifications using Figma.
• Monitor post‑launch performance and iterate designs based on user feedback and behavioral data.

Required profile

• Strategic designer able to translate abstract ideas into user‑centered solutions.
• Process optimizer skilled at delivering consistent designs across multiple platforms.
• Advocate for scalable design systems and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Detail‑driven with precision in typography, micro‑interactions and visual hierarchy.
• Data‑informed, combining creativity with user feedback and analytics.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Figma (components, Auto Layout, variables, prototyping, design libraries).
• Experience creating and maintaining scalable design systems.
• Strong background in user research and usability testing.
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS and understanding of front‑end development constraints.
• Use of AI‑assisted design and research tools for ideation and rapid prototyping.
• Ability to produce interactive designs and handoff specifications to developers.
