Senior Business Advisor

About the role

The Senior Business Advisor will work directly with the MD/CEO to provide strategic, analytical and decision‑support services across the company’s mining and energy operations. This senior position drives corporate strategy execution, performance monitoring and high‑impact stakeholder engagements.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare briefing notes, decision‑support papers and executive recommendations for the MD/CEO.
• Evaluate emerging business opportunities, risks and investment cases.
• Drive implementation of the corporate strategy and annual business plan across business units.
• Monitor performance against budgets, KPIs and strategic targets.
• Conduct market, competitor and macro‑economic analysis to inform executive decisions.
• Coordinate Board and Committee paper preparation, CEO reports and stakeholder presentations.
• Support engagements with regulators, investors, joint‑venture partners and government agencies.
• Lead confidential strategic projects, including due diligence and corporate restructuring.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum Second Class Upper) in Engineering, Geosciences, Economics, Finance, Business, Law or related field.
• Master’s degree (MBA, MSc or equivalent) strongly preferred.
• 15‑20 years of progressive experience, with at least 8 years in senior executive, head‑of‑function or strategy roles.
• Proven experience supporting C‑suite executives or boards.
• Deep understanding of Nigeria’s petroleum industry, regulatory framework and fiscal regime.
• Experience with acquisitions, project development or integrated energy businesses is highly desirable.
