Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Droomwork Limited is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build and maintain highly scalable backend services for its payroll, recruitment and talent management platform. You will work on a micro‑services, API‑first architecture that supports millions of HR‑related transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Architect, develop and maintain micro‑service based backend systems.
• Design and implement secure RESTful APIs, webhooks, event‑driven services and SDKs.
• Build authentication and authorization mechanisms using OAuth2, JWT and RBAC for multi‑tenant environments.
• Implement event‑driven architectures with message queues and streaming technologies.
• Integrate payment gateways, banking APIs, tax authorities, pension providers and HRIS solutions.
• Design resilient data architectures with PostgreSQL, SQL and NoSQL databases, including replication, sharding and caching.
• Lead adoption of Domain‑Driven Design, Clean Architecture and engineering best practices.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments with Docker and Kubernetes, and cloud‑native environments.
• Apply enterprise security controls such as encryption, secrets management, audit logging and rate limiting.
• Mentor engineers, conduct code reviews and contribute to technical roadmap planning.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with at least 72 months (6 years) of backend engineering experience.
• Proven experience designing and operating large‑scale distributed systems.
• Ability to collaborate with product, frontend, DevOps, AI and QA teams.
