Sales Engineer (Automotive/Mechanical)

About the role

E&R Standard Gate is seeking a motivated Sales Engineer to drive business growth within the automotive sector in Nigeria. The role combines field prospecting, client relationship management, and technical product presentations to promote automotive diagnostic tools and related solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new sales opportunities in the automotive industry.
• Generate qualified leads through prospecting, networking, LinkedIn, email, and phone outreach.
• Visit workshops, dealerships, fleet operators, and transport companies to present products.
• Conduct product demonstrations and recommend suitable automotive diagnostic solutions.
• Prepare quotations, proposals, and follow up throughout the sales cycle.
• Maintain accurate records of leads, interactions, and sales activities.
• Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging business opportunities.
• Collaborate with the technical team to ensure customers receive proper product information and support.
• Produce regular sales and client activity reports.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of proven sales experience, preferably in automotive or related technical fields.
• Strong track record in lead generation, prospecting, client acquisition, and closing deals.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
• Comfortable conducting sales calls, client meetings, and field visits.
• Target‑driven, proactive, and persuasive attitude.

Required skills

• Knowledge of automotive diagnostic tools and equipment.
