Risk and Loss Prevention Engineer / Specialist II

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Risk and Loss Prevention Engineer to join our oil and gas projects in Nigeria. You will lead safety assessments, conduct advanced risk studies, and ensure compliance with international and local standards.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate engineering work against complex project specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Execute comprehensive risk studies and consequence analyses, including advanced toxic gas dispersion modeling.
• Formalize safety standards into documented company practices for long‑term operational consistency.
• Communicate technical risk findings and mitigation strategies across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Manage documentation and reporting processes to meet strict project timelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a focus on Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) or Loss Prevention.
• 6–10 years of professional experience in risk and loss prevention engineering within the oil and gas industry.
• In‑depth knowledge of industry design standards, international codes, and safety criteria.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office for technical documentation and reporting.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Proven ability to handle heavy workloads and shifting priorities while meeting deadlines.
