Resident Site Engineering Superintendent – Nigeria

About the role

The Resident Site Engineering Superintendent (RSES‑D) ensures that construction works on the Bonny site are executed in line with project objectives, HSE rules, ISO 14001 requirements, specifications, approved cost and schedule, acting as SPIE’s representative on‑site.

Key responsibilities

• Exercise delegated RSES authority within the assigned perimeter and ensure all activities comply with HSE rules, procedures and technical references.
• Lead all parties toward schedule and performance objectives, coordinating interfaces between construction, commissioning, production and other simultaneous activities.
• Assess and control risks associated with simultaneous operations (SIMOPS), verify risk control measures before authorising work, and manage the Permit to Work system.
• Coordinate with BNAG RSES (Renaissance) and other operators on on‑shore pipeline activities, reporting any significant changes to the work programme.
• Maintain clear communication with operations, HSE personnel, supervisors and contractors, and stop any unsafe activity.
• Contribute to emergency management in coordination with the site RSES and the emergency response organisation.
• Oversee security and community assessments, and manage the Temporary Construction Camp (TCC) safety and security in partnership with the EPC contractor.
• Ensure contractors’ HSE practices are acceptable, that risks are identified and incorporated into planning, and that work permits are signed for the dedicated area.
• Verify that construction equipment and resources are compliant, suitable and used correctly, and enforce the company’s Golden Rules.
• Monitor and implement the Environmental Management System in accordance with ISO 14001 requirements.
