Resident Manager

About the role

The Resident Manager will act as the warden and community builder for a male student hostel, overseeing health, safety, hygiene and overall welfare of residents. This full‑time position requires strong leadership, administrative ability and a focus on maintaining a safe, supportive living environment.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day operations of the hostel, including facility upgrades, furniture and fittings management.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and hygiene standards, conducting regular inspections and safety checks.
• Enforce student rules, handle misconduct, disciplinary matters and emergency health incidents.
• Manage vendor contracts, oversee electrical/mechanical system maintenance and coordinate repairs.
• Process tenancy documentation, conduct inspections, and represent management in meetings.
• Oversee lettings, tenancy agreements and address breaches of contract.
• Lead and supervise staff, fostering a professional and accountable environment.

Required profile

• HND or BSc in Estate Management, Facility Management, Property Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience managing large residential facilities, student hostels or similar properties.
• Proven track record in facility maintenance, vendor/contractor management and staff supervision.
• Excellent communication, confidentiality and ability to handle both residents and vendors effectively.
