Registered Laboratory Technician

About the role

We are seeking a Registered Laboratory Technician to join our clinical laboratory team in Port Harcourt. The role involves handling patient specimens, performing routine tests, and ensuring high standards of quality and safety in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, receive, label, and process patient samples (blood, urine, tissue) following biohazard and infection‑control protocols.
• Perform routine tests in haematology, microbiology, parasitology, and clinical chemistry.
• Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, reporting faults immediately.
• Run controls, verify results, and maintain quality‑control standards before reporting to senior staff.
• Record observations and analytical data accurately in logbooks or the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized work environment and dispose of hazardous waste properly.
• Guide patients during specimen collection (phlebotomy) while ensuring comfort and confidentiality.

Required profile

• National Diploma (OND), Higher National Diploma (HND) or Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Science Laboratory Technology.
• Valid practising licence/registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
• 2‑3 years hands‑on experience in a clinical or diagnostic laboratory.
• Residence in or near Rumuola, Rumuoadara, Rumuokoro, or Aba Road for easy commute.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent documentation skills.

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from NGN 80,000 to NGN 90,000 per month
• Full‑time shifts covering Monday to Sunday
