Regional Business Development Manager – Abuja & Lagos

About the role

Flutterwave is seeking a Regional Business Development Manager to lead merchant acquisition and drive growth of its point‑of‑sale (PoS) network across key Nigerian markets, including Abuja and Lagos. The role combines strategic planning, team leadership and hands‑on market research to expand the merchant base and increase transaction volume.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute localized sales strategies to meet onboarding, transaction and revenue targets.
• Identify, engage and onboard high‑value enterprise and retail merchants for PoS deployment.
• Lead a team of field sales officers, conducting weekly KPI reviews and performance coaching.
• Monitor market competition and provide insights to product and marketing teams.
• Assess merchant activity, reactivate dormant accounts and ensure high service quality.
• Prepare accurate weekly, monthly and quarterly performance reports for senior management.

Required profile

• 7–9 years of experience in business development, sales or regional commercial leadership, preferably in fintech or financial services.
• Proven track record of managing field sales teams and achieving aggressive merchant acquisition and revenue goals.
• Strong understanding of local market dynamics, competitive landscape and regulatory compliance (KYC).
• Experience with loan, deposit or savings portfolio management is an advantage.
• Ability to own performance scorecards, report against targets and communicate effectively across functions.
• Results‑driven, comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, multi‑market environment.
