About the role
The Regional Humanitarian Access and Risk Advisor (HARA) will improve analysis, support operational management and build safety and security capacity for Médecins du Monde teams across nine African countries. The role involves remote coordination with country security managers, regular field visits and contributing to regional humanitarian access analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and analyse political and security contexts, produce alerts and recommendations.
- Maintain security monitoring tools, incident databases and regional analysis.
- Develop and sustain networks with security and humanitarian stakeholders, representing MdM in coordination forums.
- Provide technical guidance on security risk management, humanitarian access and assessments for new operational areas.
- Review and validate security aspects of field missions, operational plans and access management systems.
- Support incident and crisis management, including communication, post‑incident analysis and lessons learned.
- Prepare high‑quality security reports, regional analyses and ensure proper documentation.
- Deliver security briefings, debriefings and training to staff and partners.
- Supervise and support Country Humanitarian Access & Risk Advisors, contributing to recruitment and performance management.
- Assess mission security management, identify capacity‑building needs and contribute to annual action planning.
Required profile
- Degree in humanitarian security, security management or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Solid experience in humanitarian security management, including field missions in high‑risk or complex environments.
- Experience working in one or more of the countries of responsibility.
- Ability to analyse complex political and security contexts and provide clear operational recommendations.
- Confidence in managing security incidents and advising teams in dynamic environments.
- Fluency in English and French.

What we offer
- Gross monthly salary of €3,663 on a fixed‑term contract (6 months) with a 2‑week trial period.
- 13th month salary paid in two installments after six months of service.
- Expatriation allowance of 10% of gross salary.

- Health insurance (50% covered by MdM) and repatriation insurance.
- 5 weeks paid leave plus 22.5 RTT days per year.
