Reconciliation and Settlements Manager

About the role

Duplo is seeking a senior Reconciliation & Settlement Manager to lead the end‑to‑end settlement and reconciliation processes for its fintech payment platform in Lagos. The role ensures that all financial transactions are accurately settled with banks, payment processors and merchants while maintaining robust controls and liquidity.

Key responsibilities

• Own daily settlement operations across payouts, collections, card acquiring and other payment channels, ensuring SLA compliance.
• Perform daily reconciliation of internal transaction data with bank statements, wallet balances and partner settlement reports, investigating and resolving breaks.
• Monitor liquidity positions, coordinate funding with finance and partners, and proactively flag shortfalls.
• Manage relationships with banking partners and payment service providers, tracking performance against SLAs and escalating issues.
• Lead incident and exception handling, coordinating with product and engineering to resolve system‑related discrepancies.
• Produce regular settlement and reconciliation reports, track key metrics and provide insights to operations and finance leadership.
• Identify manual bottlenecks, define automation requirements and work with engineering to implement process improvements.
• Ensure all activities comply with internal policies and Nigerian regulatory requirements, supporting audits as needed.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in settlement, reconciliation, payment operations or treasury within fintech, banking or related financial services.
• Deep knowledge of the Nigerian payments ecosystem and hands‑on experience with bank and payment‑provider settlements.
• Proven ability to manage cross‑functional projects and partner relationships.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on risk mitigation and operational excellence.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
• SQL (highly desirable).
• Experience with BI or reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Data analysis and reconciliation techniques.
