Radiochemist

About the role

The Cyclotron Radiochemist will develop, synthesize, and ensure quality control of radiopharmaceuticals for PET imaging at the AMCE cyclotron facility, supporting clinical and research needs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine synthesis, purification, and QC of PET radiotracers using automated modules.
• Develop and optimize new radiochemistry methods for novel tracers.
• Manage production schedules, coordinate with cyclotron and nuclear medicine teams.
• Conduct comprehensive QC testing and maintain GMP documentation.
• Ensure radiation safety compliance and participate in audits.
• Participate in R&D projects, clinical trials, and publish findings.
• Train and mentor junior staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Required profile

• Master's or PhD in Chemistry, Radiopharmaceutical Chemistry or related field.
• 3‑5 years hands‑on experience in radiopharmaceutical production, preferably PET tracers.
• Demonstrated expertise in GMP‑compliant production and method development.
• Experience training or mentoring laboratory personnel.

Required skills

• HPLC, GC, TLC analytical techniques.
• Automated radiochemistry synthesis modules.
• Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) procedures.
