Project Officer – Institutional Support & Investments (OPS4)

About the role

The EU Delegation in Abuja seeks a Project Officer to support the Regional Cooperation section in delivering the Global Gateway strategy, focusing on large‑scale infrastructure investments across digital, energy, transport and other priority sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Support policy and sector dialogue with ECOWAS, EU Member States, development partners and private sector to identify investment opportunities.
• Manage EU‑funded programmes that strengthen institutional capacities of ECOWAS bodies and promote blended‑finance projects.
• Oversee procurement processes, monitor contracts, and ensure financial compliance with EU regulations.
• Prepare and negotiate programme updates, produce implementation reports and contribute to EU reporting requirements.
• Coordinate communication, disseminate project results, and represent the Delegation in working groups and steering committees.

Required profile

• University degree in international trade, economics, business development, public administration, law or a related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in managing cooperation projects, preferably in infrastructure or investment sectors.
