Project Draftsman

About the role

We are looking for a Project Draftsman to join the Technical & Production team at Nestlé’s Flowergate Factory in Sagamu. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will produce a range of project drawings, including spare‑parts, factory and plant layouts, and ensure they align with construction and equipment installation.

Key responsibilities

• Produce, revise and interpret accurate engineering drawings, spare‑parts drawings, factory and plant layouts.
• Verify that construction and equipment installation conform to approved drawings and capture as‑built changes.
• Synchronise drawings with OEM equipment delivery requirements.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers, Factory Engineering, consultants, vendors, contractors and suppliers to achieve first‑time‑right delivery.
• Maintain drawing controls, revision history, version management, approvals and distribution throughout the project lifecycle.
• File, retrieve, update and securely manage project drawings, layouts and as‑built records.
• Support basic and detailed design phases in line with project charters, URS, local regulations and Nestlé standards.
• Assist engineering activities for buildings, equipment erection, piping, utilities and site modifications while meeting timing, cost, quality and safety requirements.
• Support qualification, verification, start‑up and hand‑over activities, including preparation of final engineering documentation.
• Deliver outputs applying Nestlé SH&E, quality and engineering requirements, emphasizing speed, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• HND/BSc or equivalent in Engineering or a related Engineering/Drafting discipline.
• Minimum two years’ experience in capital‑investment project development and implementation in the food industry.
• Strong ability to produce, read and interpret engineering drawings, factory and plant layouts, and verify site execution against approved designs.
• Proven capability in drawing and document‑control management, including revision handling and accurate as‑built record keeping.
• Good understanding of engineering, manufacturing, safety and quality requirements in an industrial environment.
