Project Assistant for Displacement Tracking Matrix

About the role

The Project Assistant will support the implementation of the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) project in Nigeria, working under the supervision of the DTM Programme Officer and in coordination with the DTM Senior Programme Associate.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and monitoring project activities, including organizing meetings, workshops and training sessions.
• Retrieve, compile, summarize and present data on project topics, draft status reports and other documentation.
• Monitor the project budget, verify fund availability, obtain approvals and update budget information.
• Coordinate administrative actions with internal units and external partners, ensuring clear communication and timely follow‑up.

Required profile

• 3‑4 years of experience in project support, preferably with international humanitarian or development organisations.
• Experience liaising with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs and vulnerable groups such as migrants and IDPs.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to handle confidential information and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize tasks in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• High computer literacy: Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of financial rules, UN donor programming and International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS).
• Logistics coordination for project activities.
