Procurement Specialist – Urea Fertilizer (Nigeria)

About the role

PHOSMARK Inc. is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist based in Nigeria to lead the sourcing of urea fertilizer directly from local producers. The role is central to strengthening the company’s upstream supply base in West Africa, ensuring reliable supply, regulatory compliance, and commercially competitive terms.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, approach, and establish direct commercial relationships with urea fertilizer producers in Nigeria and the wider region, monitoring plant capacity, production schedules, and output quality.
• Conduct thorough KYC and due‑diligence on prospective and existing producers, collecting and verifying corporate, licensing, and quality documentation.
• Negotiate commercial terms—including price, volume, payment terms, delivery incoterms, and quality specifications—and support the structuring of offtake agreements and framework contracts.
• Track procurement volume targets, report performance to the Head of Commercial, and coordinate with logistics and operations to align procurement terms with shipping schedules.

Required profile

• Based in Nigeria with willingness to travel to producer facilities.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fertilizer, agri‑commodity, or industrial commodity procurement/trading.
• Established network of contacts among Nigerian (and preferably broader West African) urea/fertilizer producers.
• Solid understanding of KYC/due‑diligence processes in a commodity trading context.
• Fluent English (written and spoken); additional local languages are an asset.
